May 17 Mentor Prep: How to Make Advisor Time Count
A simple structure for mentor meetings that turns broad advice into decisions, introductions, and measurable next steps.
Mentor meetings work best when founders bring a decision, not a life story. Share a short context note, the specific question, the options being considered, and the constraint that makes the decision hard.
Ask mentors for pattern recognition: what risk are we underestimating, what proof would change your mind, who should we talk to next, and what would you do in the next two weeks with our resources?
After the call, send a brief recap with decisions, next actions, and requested introductions. Strong follow-through turns mentors from occasional commentators into real allies.
