About us
Startup Island PH is a Visayas-anchored platform for mentorship, curated ecosystem access, and honest storytelling about what is working in Philippine startups right now.

Startup Island PH exists because building from the islands should feel supported—not lonely. We work alongside public and private partners—especially in Central Visayas—to make mentorship, programs, and community touchpoints easier to find and join.
Our mentoring track has welcomed teams from Cebu and neighboring provinces, with founders also joining from farther across the Philippines when the program fit their stage. Graduations and demo days are not vanity moments; they are checkpoints where traction, storytelling, and investor questions meet.
You will see three threads across everything we publish: StartupIsland.ph Mentoring for structured founder development, StartupIsland.ph Matching for intros that respect both sides' time, and StartupIsland.ph Makers for the builders, enablers, and investors who keep the ecosystem moving.

To help build economically stronger, globally competitive startups and a more robust ecosystem—by growing a culture where founders, markets, and investors meet through purposeful networking, honest feedback, and programs that reward execution.

Funding portals, grant FAQs, pitch guides, and national startup links curated for Philippine incorporation and fundraising reality.
Why it matters
The Philippines is not one startup scene—it is many. We lean into Cebu and the surrounding region because that is where our community first proved density, repeat events, and institutional partners could line up for founders.
Visayas cities combine English-friendly operations, strong universities, and cost structures that let early teams run longer experiments before raising.
Provincial startup councils, regional innovation hubs, and cross-agency roadmaps are turning intent into institutions—founders who read the signals move faster.
Archipelago distribution is hard—which is exactly why logistics, fintech, health, and climate ideas tested here often travel well across ASEAN and diaspora markets.
How we work
When the internet is loud, we try to be useful. These are the defaults behind our pages, emails, and on-stage introductions.
We bias toward clear next steps: fewer vague promises, more links, dates, and names you can verify.
When we cover news, we point to primary sources. When we teach, we separate opinion from what agencies actually publish.
Our home ground is Cebu and the surrounding islands—and we happily point you to national programs when Manila or QC is the right desk for your next milestone.
Apply to mentoring, explore partners and programs, or scan this week's ecosystem highlights—then come back when your stage changes. We are building this site to grow with you.
